Bahar Badieitabar is an Iranian oud player, composer, and educator. Her work spans various sonic realms, including Iranian classical music, contemporary concert music, jazz, and free improvisation. Drawing influence from these diverse sonic entities, she strives to create a soundscape that reflects her extensive musical exploration, analytical skills, and creativity. Her work is an unrestrained expression of self and an artistic resistance against the status quo. that embraces vast sonic realms and elicits strong emotions and experiences from listeners. 

Bahar began her musical training at 12 at the Tehran Music School, where she earned her high school diploma in music. She studied under notable oud players, including Siavash Roshan, Yasamin Shah Hosseini, and Yurdal Tokcan. She won first place at the Iranian Youth National Music Festival for two consecutive years, at ages 16 and 17. In 2017, Bahar began her undergraduate studies in Oud Performance at the University of Tehran before moving to the United States to study at Berklee, where she earned her undergraduate degree with a double major in composition and performance, and graduated with a Presidential Scholarship. She has studied and worked with acclaimed musicians such as Marti Epstein, Kris Davis, and Alain Mallet, and since 2022, she has been part of Berklee's Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. 

Bahar has taught workshops focusing on Iranian classical music in New York and Boston, including at Silkroad, founded by Yo-Yo Ma. She has taken the stage both as a performer and a composer at renowned venues, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, MCG Jazz, Groton Hill Music Center, and National Sawdust. Bahar has also performed at festivals in Iran and the United States, such as the New York Oud Festival and the Cambridge Jazz Festival.  She is a member of Danilo Pérez's Global Jazz Messengers and has performed and toured with GRAMMY-winning, world-renowned musicians such as John Patitucci, Brian Blade, Danilo Pérez, and Bruno Råberg. Currently, Bahar is pursuing her master’s degree at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
